This is the second year for the summit that will include junior high and high school students representing Long Beach, Yokkaichi and Tianjin, China, to discuss environmental issues facing their home cities and the world.

The student delegation consists of Suzie Chhouk, Divya Kernik and Samantha Liberman from Long Beach Poly High School; and Sarah Paset of Newcomb Academy.

The representatives leave Aug. 2 and return Aug. 11. They will be housed at an international center but also will have a home stay with families in Yokkaichi and will tour Kyoto.

The program will include a tour of the environmental facilities in Yokkaichi including the Port of Yokkaichi and the petrochemical complex, discussions regarding environmental issues and a presentation by each delegation in the Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry about the environment in each home country and what each delegation can learn from the other.
